For fans of Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and the swing era, we at Eagley Band are launching a brand new Big Band to coincide with our 175th anniversary celebrations.

The all new Eagley Big Band will play its first ever public concert on Saturday October 12th in the theatre of Bolton’s Ukrainian Centre in Castle Street, featuring 7 Saxophones, 5 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Bass Guitar and Drum Kit rhythm section. The first half of the concert will feature our full Eagley Brass Band and then after the interval our new Big Band will take to the stage and entertain what is certain to be a full house.

Our MD Chris Wormald says “I formed my first ever Big Band here in Bolton over 30 years ago, in October 1992, and it proved incredibly popular from its very first concert and right through for the next 25 years. Now that Eagley Band is to celebrate 175 years of making music in Bolton, starting in the new year, we felt it was the perfect time to launch a brand new Big Band in the town with amazing local musicians I have worked with for many years, many of whom are already members of Eagley Band of course. October 12th is going to be a great night.”
