Our next major concert in Bolton sees us all return to the Victoria Hall on Saturday October 14th at 7.30pm. As ever, all tickets in these financially challenging times remain priced at a uniquely reasonable £5.00 to all.
Our first Victoria Hall concert this year is entitled “From Sinatra To Bolero” as the evening will take everyone on a fantastic musical journey of popular and well known music, performed as always by the members of Eagley Band, Community Choir and Community Band, all conducted by our Musical Director Chris Wormald and led by our brilliant Principal Cornet player Lynsey Hayes.
The concert is commemorating exactly a quarter of a century since legendary American singer and entertainer Frank Sinatra passed away in 1998 and exactly forty years since celebrated British ice dance partners Torvill and Dean spent the Autumn of 1983 creating their iconic Bolero routine which was unveiled at the February 1984 Winter Olympics.
Our concert will open with a very special ‘Sinatra Overture’ which features many of his iconic and best known arrangements, then an eclectic mix of musical highlights which will include Nimrod and Buglers’ Holiday through to the Shostakovich Festive Overture and Stravinsky Firebird, along with additional renditions of New York New York, My Way, I’ve Got You Under My Skin and Strangers In The Night!
Our return to the Victoria Hall promises to be the usual, popular Eagley mix of uplifting music, audience participation and a moving piece or two to stir the emotions!
The concert will begin at 7.30pm and end at 9.40pm.
